Volunteering at East Bristol foodbank

"It makes a difference to me to be able to volunteer. I know what a hole people can be in. I've seen it."

– Ian, foodbank volunteer

A great way to give back to your community is by volunteering at your local foodbank. Here are some ways you can help in East Bristol:

Outlet volunteer

East Bristol foodbank operates from four different locations: on Mondays, in Kingswood, on Wednesdays, in Fishponds, and on Fridays in both Fishponds and Easton. A shift at one of these outlets mainly involves welcoming guests into the centre, offering them a hot drink and providing them with a food parcel. There's also the opportunity to train in the More Than Food programme, which would enable you to help people with debt support and acquiring essential home appliances. Shifts are usually around three hours a week.

Warehouse volunteer

Warehouse volunteers typically give between two and six hours of their time each week, helping keep the warehouse in order by sorting through stock and donations.
